SC13 George Michael HPC Fellowship - Application Period Opens Sunday, March 3, 2013

Application Period – March 3 – May 1, 2013

The George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship is open to submissions from exceptional PhD students whose research focus is on high-performance computing applications, networking, storage, or large-scale data analysis using the most powerful computers that are currently available.

Recipients receive a $5000 honorarium, travel and registration for SC13, and recognition at the SC13 Awards Ceremony.

The fellowship is sponsored by the ACM and the IEEE-CS.

Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time PhD program at an accredited college or university and are expected to have completed at least one year of study in their doctoral program.

The George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship encourages applications from women, minorities, and all who contribute to workforce diversity.  

The application includes:

* Description of current research and its connection to High-Performance Computing

* Academic progress including classes taken, presentations made, and publications submitted to journals

* Description of a plan of study to enhance HPC-related skills

* Description of current and future use of HPC resources
